This makes me sick.
For those who won’t go read the article, a short recap:
Someone went out of their way, with some very large equipment, to destroy Native rock carvings right before it could be assessed and aged.
One, it makes me sick that someone’s destroying historical record. Two, it makes me sick that someone’s destroyed a sacred site. This was done merely to cause distress to others. No other reason. I’m sure whatever person(s) did this thinks they’re justified, but I don’t think you can ever justify this sort of action.
It isn’t like I have a huge amount of faith in or liking for my fellow Homo sapiens, at all. But I still get upset. Stuff like this is just one more drop in the bucket, and it makes me very bitter that there’s a bucket at all.
